Examination Fees

The examination fee for each part of the Pharmacist Qualifying Examination is:

Part I (MCQ) $ 400
Part II (OSCE) $1,520

Note: If you are applying to take both parts of the Qualifying Examination, you are required to pay the full examination fee of $1,920.

Fees must be paid in Canadian funds by cheque or money order, and dated no later than the application deadline. Post-dated cheques are not acceptable. All payments from outside of Canada must be made in Canadian funds by international bank draft or money order, and drawn on a Canadian bank. A $50 administrative fee will be charged for any returned (NSF, etc.) cheques. This administrative fee must be in the form of a certified cheque or money order. You may also not be assigned to the examination centre of your preference.

The Qualifying Examination fee includes registration with PEBC, upon successful completion of both Part I and Part II.
Note: You CANNOT transfer your application or fee from one session to the next. For example, if you have applied to take the May examination and you decide instead to take the November examination, your application and fee for the May examination is treated as a withdrawal and you need to re-apply for the November examination.

PEBC reserves the right to change fees for either part of the Pharmacist Qualifying Examination, at any time, as required.

Eligibility

1. Canadian Graduates

Graduates with a first professional undergraduate degree in pharmacy should apply directly for the Qualifying Examination if:

they are graduating from a program accredited by The Canadian Council for Accreditation of Pharmacy Programs (CCAPP)
their degree was awarded on or before December 31, 1993 by a constituent faculty of the Association of Faculties of Pharmacy of Canada

Note: If you are currently part of a graduating class in a Canadian university undergraduate pharmacy program, apply directly for the Qualifying Examination before the application deadline. However, your examination application will be conditional, pending confirmation of successful completion of all degree/course requirements prior to the examination. If you fail to graduate, you will not be permitted to take the examination.

2. American Graduates

If you are currently enrolled in or have graduated from a first professional undergraduate degree program in pharmacy accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) you may apply directly for the Qualifying Examination Part I – (MCQ) and Part II – (OSCE). However, your qualifications need to be assessed to confirm eligibility. You must arrange to have your final transcripts sent to PEBC, directly from the university. They must be received at PEBC no later than two weeks prior to the examination date. Please contact the PEBC office for further information.

3. Other International Pharmacy Graduates

All other graduates must first have their qualifications assessed, through PEBC Document Evaluation and the PEBC Evaluating Examination, to determine their eligibility to take the Qualifying Examination. Please contact the PEBC office or refer to the PEBC website: www.pebc.ca for further information.

Note: If you are accepted to write the Evaluating Examination that is scheduled just before a Qualifying Examination date, you may apply for that Qualifying Examination before receiving your results from the Evaluating Examination. However, your examination application will be conditional, pending confirmation of successful completion of the Evaluating Examination.
